Join us in our mission to improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities through community activities and advocacy.

The Arc of Greater Williamsburg is a local non-profit 501(c)3, that serves adults with disabilities. We are a chapter of The Arc of the United States and The Arc of Virginia. “The Arc is there when the school bus stops coming.” This tagline helps to denote that when young adults age out of special education at age 21, The Arc of GW is there to provide programs and activities for these amazing people!

Current Openings

The Arc provides activities about 8 times each month, usually on a Tuesday or Thursday evening from 7-9. We have four program areas, Fitness, Arts & Culture, Lifelong Learning, and Social/Recreational activities. Since 95% of our Arc clients do not drive and require transportation, our Arc vans are used to transport our clients to and from their residence for these programs.

The Arc is currently seeking drivers who are compassionate, have a good driving record, and clean background check. The Arc drivers are very special and trusted friends to our Arc families. They get to know our clients and their caregivers and many of our drivers have been with us for many years. The Arc pays $12-$15 per hour depending on experience.

In addition to the evening activities, we also have day programs that require transporting our clients. Our Wheels4Work program provides reliable transportation for our working clients.

If you would like to meet with The Arc to discuss driving opportunities, please contact the Executive Director, Pam McGregor, at or call 757-229-3535.
